Unity Church of the Light - 2010 Financial Intention

You have spoken….. for expansion.

  • Expand the children’s program upwards including teens.

  • Expand the Music Ministry.

  • Expand our outreach, let more of the community know of our mission.

  • Expand our healing activities.

  • Expand our spiritual education program.

  • Imagine what each of us will receive from our church community with this expansion!!! Yes, we want to grow and to reach out to touch all those who would resonate with our message. But… we are not yet paying for what we now do.

“We are all on a journey to oneness, through Unity we never walk alone. There is always a hand to hold and a light on the path.”
Paul and Carolyn Hebert, Champ Homes

In three short years, here are some of your accomplishments:

  • Purchased your Church Home

  • Doubled the Sunday attendance

  • Created a book store

  • Began a Children’s Program

  • Built a classroom

  • Renovated the foyer and the sanctuary

  • Began construction on the fellowship hall and kitchen

  • Strengthened the volunteer-service ministries

  • Hired a marvelous music director

  • “My life’s journey has brought me home, my spiritual home: Unity Church of the Light.”
    Al Desrochers

You have spoken for expansion and your leadership hears you.   The leadership of Unity Church of the Light has also promised you that we will live within our means with a balanced budget.

In deciding what you will pledge this coming year, consider the following thoughts and questions:

  • We all are the owners of UCL

  • We all are responsible for this church

  • We all are the sole support of UCL.  Your contributions are what fund UCL.   We receive no outside funding to maintain UCL

  • As a tithing church, we give back 10% of all we receive to support the larger Unity movement and our local community.

  • We are still operating in the red

  • Our expenses for 2009 will be $176,640; down 8% from 2008.  We have made reductions in our minister’s salary, the hours for our administrative staff and our music ministry.

  • Our expenses for 2010 are expected to be $175,795.

  •

“At last, I have found a church that walks the talk without claiming to have the inside track.”
    Tom J. Walsh

The Question: So, Community, how do we live within our means and expand at the same time:

The Answer: Each of us gives more.

    How much more?

If you are already tithing, could you give just a little more?

If you are not tithing, would you consider doing so? Tithing, giving 10% of what you receive to the place of your spiritual nourishment, is a proven spiritual principle that blesses the giver by putting him/her in the flow and circulation of abundance.

If this is not yet possible, what is the very most you could can pledge for 2010?

As you read the direct quotes in this brochure, with which do you resonate?

How much spiritual nourishment do you get from Unity Church of the Light?

Are you giving to Unity in proportion to what you are receiving?

Is Unity as important to you as other essentials in your life, like food? It costs money to feed your body. It costs money to feed your soul.

Are you giving the same amount as when heating oil was 69 cents a gallon?

Would you bring your giving up to a relative amount for 2010? >
