Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition

The Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the September 11 tragedy with an interfaith prayer service.

Monday, Sept. 11,
7 to 9 p.m.
Lower School Gymnasium
Cape Cod Academy,
50 Osterville-West Barnstable Road, Osterville.

The service will include music and prayers from a variety of religious traditions including Bahá’í, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim.

Also planned is a prayer circle in which everyone attending will have the opportunity to share the names of people for whom they would like to have the group pray.
Folks who have loved ones serving in the armed services will be invited to announce the names, units and locations of their loved ones.

People will be able to ask for prayers for anyone, and the prayers will be offered from a variety of traditions and in a variety of methods. The service commemorates the Sept. 11, 2001, attack and the violence that has continued in its wake.

The Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition has been presenting ecumenical gatherings for many years and stresses that people from any spiritual tradition are welcome and should feel comfortable at its events.
“We respect all religious traditions,” - Rev. Steve Carty Cordry; Chair.

Unity Church of the Light's musical ministry will provide the music for the service.
